Mike Bray Photography - Chitabe Wild Dogs

Sighting wild dogs is an uncommon experience. Wild dogs are an endangered species; only three or four thousand remain in the wild.

The biggest surprise greeting a visitor to the game viewing areas of Africa is how close the vehicle gets to the wild animals. Many times our truck was within 50 feet of large predators like lions or leopards! The animals simply ignored us.

Photo safaris have become so popular and eco-tourism so valuable that only 3 hunting concessions remain in Botswana. In 1982 there were over 50 such hunting concessions, and all but those last 3 have been turned into photo safari camps.
